Embracing the colorful humans and creating a colorful world.
I have been avoiding Face Book for quite a while now. Largely because I became conflicted in my thought which brought up emotion about what I have done, what I am and what I can do. In short a Spiritual Funk.
Each person reading will take IN the above statements Through their own lens; everyone will have their own ‘take’ on what that second sentence actually means. That is just the way it is. Please do not mistake your interpretation of my words to be My meaning Or my truth. Understand that your interpretation of my words is just that – Your interpretation.
I have a problem with Face Book. I have been censored twice and for posts that perhaps were not quite as damning as this post. And I may get wiped again. Who knows. Still I rise.
I do not mean to ‘worry’ my family and friends, but I must be me and I intend to allow you to be you with gratitude for our differences. I get that a corporation (that considers itself a person in law) has the right by law to censure anyone. It is the evolution of the right to not serve anyone coming into your little shop. But individuals can be more human.
Outright censorship has become epidemic, pandemic if you like. It was easier to not approve of it when we didn’t know we were being censored; as done for at least 80 years by mass media. And now you may be thinking oh there she goes into conspiracy theory. And I may think that many have taken of the insane root…
It is interesting to me that when someone makes a point that feels painful or goes against the grain of popular thought it is a conspiracy theory but when someone repeats a lie often enough everyone believes it.
I’m not writing today about conspiracies or really even censorship. I am writing about taking what is
called the 30,000 foot view or the bird’s eye view of life and of our world. That is hard to do because it requires a little bit of detachment from what I am told, what I’m asked to do, what others tell me and what people project onto me. Which means reconnecting to my Higher Self and as Oracle and spiritual teacher, Colette Baron Reid says, ‘jump on my bird’.
Try it. It can be difficult but it is refreshing nonetheless. Imagine you are sitting on a bird, any bird that comes to mind. And fly up and up until you can look down upon your life in a more neutral way.
I am most fortunate in that those most dear to me allow me to be me. Their worry for me or even their dismay for me is theirs to own – not mine. That is where the little bit of detachment comes in. I still love those people deeply.
So this conflict I alluded to is, in part, about the 1800 masks I (and my DH) made a year ago when the pandemic was first initiated and my current views on masks and the myriad misuses that have cropped up. These masks were simple little cloth constructions which took hours and hours to make. I know they were of value to all those to which they were freely given in my community and beyond.
That little project was full of love and pride. I set aside all Spirit Portraits and other art works and focused on masks. Even before I had come to the conclusion that I was done making and giving away masks my research into the pandemic and the wearing of masks became pointedly reversed. Our daily FB posts included any new research we came across that was Anything to do with the wearing of masks with the intention of sharing ideas that people could then choose what was in their best interest.
I even noted in one post that one famous CDC head told the world to not wear a mask as it was unnecessary and proven scientifically and fully one month later the same person completely reversed opinion and advising the opposite but when pressed by the interviewer would not say it was scientifically proven. Granted new information can come to light – And it works both ways.
Again, the words I have written will be interpreted through your lens/perception based on the information you have received and chosen to believe.
I too have reversed opinion And it is indeed based on my perception of the information I have ruthlessly sought out and chosen to believe. And I went back and forth for months in a tortured mental gym. I don’t regret making all those masks but I feel the conflict of having supported the idea that they were necessary. We each and every one of us are always doing the best we can do And I strive to not make anyone wrong.
Now is when someone reading will want to click the comment button.
Here’s is my point: It is okay to change your mind. It is okay to recognize that there is another way of looking at things. Often more than one way – And that each way is not right or wrong – It just is.
This way of thinking and being is disturbing and cannot even be conceived of by over 90% of people. It is embracing the coloring of outside the lines. Why that is can be explored another time.
Holding two or more ideas, realities, thoughts at the same time is not taught in our closed-minded world. Critical thinking has lost all value. That is why I was in a mental gymnastics routine that locked me up for a while – I temporarily forgot to employ critical thinking that was based in information from several varying sources. That subject is also for another time.
Try it. Allow two things to be ‘true’ at once – two things that seem to be opposites. Just scribble your crayon all over the lines. It takes practice and you may ask why would I even try that?
Because our world is Not black and white, it isn’t even gray! There is a whole lot of color in-between black and white my friends. A whole lot of color. Not one monotone color, definitely not black and white but a rainbow, a whole palette, a whole color wheel of ‘truths’.
It is okay to follow your own ideas, your own intuition, in spite of how popular it isn’t or what others think. That is the color in-between the black and white thinking. And when that is honored it makes our world so light and bright! When we allow another person to have another idea and we are in gratitude for that different idea, we make all of humanity stronger, no matter how temporarily difficult and uncertain it makes our life.
So I return to FB. Using tongs, but Ready to take out my colors and spread them out freely from my bird’s eye view. I am a sovereign being fully armed with a palette of ideas, personal truths and freedoms AND so are you.
Let’s paint a more beautiful world. A more colorful composition that we can call a life of lovelight and lightlove. Connecting, hugging, laughing and allowing everyone to be who they are with acceptance and gratitude. Embrace the Mystery!
